"Chanderi Tales"
When I was young I always adored my mothers chanderi dupattas, this
traditional ethnic fabric characterized by its lightweight, sheer texture had a luxurious feel to it. At the age of 5 it made me feel like an Indian Barbie!! Growing up and studying fashion, I started to understand it more, differiciating between Chanderi Silk, Chanderi Cotton. Running down the history of this fabric, we understand why it makes a women feel like a princess -
In the year 1910, Chanderi Saree were patronized by the royal family of Scindia and in
the Mughal reign, popularity of this fabric reached new heights and was the most favored choice of queens in India.
When our designers from Gulaal India informed us of their new collection to be in Chanderi, I couldnt hold my excitement to see what fun outfits will they make? As always Gulaal never fails to suprise us, they have used chanderi in not only saree and suits but also in co-ords and dresses. Check their collection here, isn't it a lovely one?
Now available in the UK, USA, AUSTRALIAand ofcouse INDIA.
